The Raffle Prizes
Take a look at the following wonderful raffle prizes donated from the participating Artists, our sponsors and even some from other artists that wanted to help with the fund-raising. With such a great selection of prizes, landscape paintings, abstracts, sculpture, jewellery, urban art, photography and woodcut prints there really was something here for everyone.
We raised £585 from the raffle ticket sales at the event which is fantastic. There were 19 winners in the raffle, 10 of those received their first choice of prize and another 6 got their second choice!

Prize Number 01
We have a framed and mounted black and white (limited edition) photograph by the wonderful photographer Sion Eleri called 'Meet Me Under The Bridge'. It comes with a black frame and a white mount. Dimensions to follow.

Laurence Broderick has kindly donated a limited edition print of a sketch he produced in 1974:

Prize Number 03
Hilary Gretton has donated a very large and interesting piece from her own collection. This is a framed silk painting of a Mogul Emperor with his harem which Hilary purchased some 30 years ago whilst on a trip to India.
It measures a sizable 78 by 105cm and is contained within a very simple wooden frame.

We have a lovely black and white (limited edition) photograph called 'Rigging' donated by the Haddenham photographer Neil Graham-Cameron. It comes with a white mount and a black frame. Dimensions to follow.

The Cambridge-based Sculptor Melissa Pierce Murray has donated a gorgeous sculpture called 'Standing Stone Figure'.
The dimensions are 22x4x4 cm, and it is a cast stone stone piece that looks like red sandstone.

The brilliant Artist & Poet John Lyons has donated a very limited edition Woodcut print called 'Into The Fens', produced in 2007. This one is number 5 of 10 and comes mounted and framed by the Artist.
The art of the woodcut print has a long tradition particularly in the Chinese and Japanese cultures. Woodcut printing is capable of a wide range of effects from the subtle, poetic, multicolor, detailed prints of the Oriental artists to the bold, expressive, graphic, black and white prints of the German Expressionist artists in the early twentieth century.
John has produced many woodcut prints over the years, all of them limited to very small editions.

Cambridge landscape Artist Jo Tunmer has donated this charming original oil painting from 2009. The painting has a wide-open feel reminiscent of the fens with a huge sky and scratched on grasses in the foreground.
The painting measures 14 x 10cm and is mounted in a wide, crisp white mount with a plain timber frame measuring approximately 31.5 x 28cm and is strung, ready to hang.

The first donation from Craig Kerrecoe is an original painting from his series of abstracts called 'The Code'. This particular painting is called 'Identikit' and dates from 2005. It has been exhibited many times over the years.

This fabulous piece is another generous donation from the lovely Jo Tunmer. It's an original oil painting on canvas paper called 'Night Thoughts'. It comes in at 49x40cm and comes with a double mount, ready for framing.

This is a very interesting piece, donated by Ovenden Contemporary on behalf of one of their former members Charissa Boroff. It's a 'lasertrans' transfer print on 20x14" hardboard and this is labelled by the Artist as number 1 of only 25!

This is another donation from Craig Kerrecoe. It's an original painting from his long-running series 'The Code' called 'Don't Tell People More Than They Need To Know'. It was painted in 2008 on stretched canvas 30x20" in size using acrylics, emulsions and metallics. This painting was exhibited recently in the 'Winter Exhibition' at Needhams Restaurant in Witchford, Ely.

Former Ovenden Contemporary member Gareth Buxton has very generously donated two paintings to our raffle. The first one is this gorgeous seascape from 2006 called 'Grey Wave' painted with acrylics on deep edge box canvas ready to hang as is or be framed.

The second donation from the brilliant landscape Artist Gareth Buxton is 'Sea Swirl XI' from 2006. Using acrylics on deep edge box canvas Gareth has created this powerful image of a storm swell. It's a great size too- 30" by 20" ready to hang and look amazing on your wall.

Ovenden Contemporary has donated this charming little painting by the very popular Artist Jean Picton from Hertfordshire. It measures 30x30cm and is very typical of her 'Flower Series'.

Lorraine Allan, the jeweller from Longstowe, has kindly donated a pair of handmade, sterling silver ear ring studs. They will come presented in a suitable gift box. Lorraine has her own website here and will be participating in this year's Cambridge Open Studios.

This is an original painting by the brilliant Snowdonia-based Artist Sonja Benskin Mesher. Sonja is a member of Ovenden Contemporary and has exhibited many times in Cambridgeshire through them, including the Old Palace Art Exhibition in Ely.

The urban Artist and curator Kaine Kulczak (aka Korporate) has donated this brilliantly subversive mixed-media stencil piece measuring 25cm x 30cm.
The piece is called 'Are You Taking This Seriously?' The stencil image has 7 layers and is sprayed over pages from a joke book that are pasted onto the canvas.

What self-respecting raffle would be complete without a cuddly toy as a prize? Well, this is no ordinary raffle and this is no ordinary cuddly toy!
